The Rumble-
I think fighting is bad. People usually end up fighting for stupid reasons. It’s really easy for fighting in the streets to end up with someone really hurt or even dying. I don’t know why, but in my younger years I’ve either been in fights or the people around me have been in fights. My older brother was in a gang and I always heard about different people he had to fight. It’s crazy. I know people that have been shot or stabbed with a knife or hit with a bottle. There was a group art show here in San Diego a couple of years back. It was called Modest Behavior and I’m pretty sure Monica Hoover was the curator. It was a great show. Shepard Fairy was in it. So were Kinsey, Corey French, Lance De Los Reyes, Nekoe, Skypage, Mike Maxwell and a bunch of other really good artists. But a group of people came into the gallery to beat somebody up, and then a big rumble happened. Sculptures were falling everywhere, paintings were being smashed up. It was really disrespectful but it was also pretty memorable. Thankfully no one got seriously injured.
I think you should be able to solve conflicts by being reasonable and talking it out. But sometimes people are not reasonable and they are a-holes and just want to cause pain to another person. It’s important to avoid this type of person. It’s also important to learn how to defend yourself if you encounter a situation where you can’t talk it out or walk away.
